- I NEED A WORDPRESS WEBSITE. NOW WHAT?
WordPress is a free open-source content management system used as website/blog publishing platform. Creating and publishing WordPress website requires the usual basics like any other website: hosting plan with provider of your choice, website domain name(s), website design and/or customization of a theme, plugins/extensions, and time to put it all together. You will also need content for your website (texts, pictures, videos, etc.). We can help you, let’s talk!
- WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SVOD AND TVOD?
SVOD or subscription video on demand is similar to traditional TV, allowing users to consume as much content as they desire at a flat rate per month. This model allows greater freedom to opt-out, which offers greater flexibility to users, and providers are continually challenged with retaining consumers, usually by providing exclusive new content, innovative pricing schemes and more.
TVOD or transactional video on demand is the opposite of SVOD, where consumers purchase content on a pay-per-view basis. TVOD has two sub-categories, electronic sell-through (EST), where customers pay once to gain permanent access to specific content; and download to rent (DTR), where customers can access content for a limited time for a smaller fee.
- WHAT IS AVOD?
AVOD or advertising-based video on demand is free to consumers. Similar to broadcast television, consumers need to sit through advertisements. AVOD is seldom used for premium content as it generates lower amounts of revenue than SVOD and TVOD.
- WHAT IS OVER-THE-TOP?
OTT or ‘over the top’ refers to content that’s distributed directly to viewers over the internet. And yes, OTT is a subset of VOD (video on demand). The ability to deliver content over the internet has opened the door for innovative online services but also new platforms to display content from those services including Roku, Apple TV or Android TV.
